"what is avila region?"
i get this question, like a lot.
and every time it's a different answer.
it just means so many things to me, and it's hard for me to be direct in my answers. i want to say that it's a collective. but then the awkward question gets brought up of "who's in it?"
i don't really know, to be honest. me for sure, for right now.
oh, and also, i want to bring up that it's a brand. and not just.. merch. i kinda hate when people call it merch, it's been a problem since like, 8th grade.
...
i've always wanted a band, i think.
i tried, twice. both times ended similarly. i was a vocalist/creative director for one of them and i did everything for the other. i had a great time with both of these, but they both ended. my fantasies of being in a group quickly turned into dust. after my last group, i learned i'm done with being in a band. while i had good experiences with bands, i had bad ones too; and i still have a pretty bitter taste in my mouth from it. i quit and knew in my heart i wanted to be solo.
but still, i yearn for.. a team? community? a group?
just like-minded people, i guess.
my first introduction into music i was really passionate about was odd future and brockhampton, so i guess i kinda wear my influences on my sleeves. seeing the saturation music videos changed my life.
and one day, i hope avila region becomes bigger than just music. than just a couple of t-shirts.
more than anything, i want it to be an animation studio. i wanna be ceo, i wanna showrun. i wanna give unheard voices a platform exclusively for the medium. that's a whole new entry, though.
remember in the beginning when i said that it's hard for me to be direct in my answers? i meant that.
Avila Region is a multi-medium collective created by The Son of Avila that specializes in music, clothing, and art.
thanks :)
